Dan has been selected as the Conservative candidate in the Tooting by-election.
He has lived in the area for 15 years and during that time has become a devoted champion for the community. In 2006, he set up a business, located in Earlsfield, providing employment for local people.
Dan has a strong track record of campaigning hard for the people of Tooting and setting up projects to help the area. He is a volunteer at local charities, mentoring the long-term unemployed back into work and is also a Governor at Oak Lodge School for the Deaf in Balham.
As a keen cyclist and member of the RSPB and World Wide Fund for Nature, Dan is passionate about protecting Tooting’s green spaces. He founded Tooting Voluntary Force, through which volunteers give their time to support local charities and environmental projects.
Dan lives with his wife Tamara, a social worker, and the couple welcomed their first child, Harry, into the world at St George’s Hospital in 2014.
Commenting on his selection, Dan said:
“I am hugely honoured to have been selected as the Conservative candidate, in an area I have called home for 15 years and where I am proud to now be raising my family. I have worked hard as an active campaigner and volunteer to champion all of the things I know make Tooting great – its diversity, its community spirit, its small businesses, its heritage. Tooting residents need a strong local voice in Parliament and I will work tirelessly to earn the right to represent them.”
