Rutherford Hall, Balham High Road, and Tooting Primary, Franciscan Road, have welcomed their first students. Both of these schools will bring new ideas and desperately needed capacity to our local community, helping ensure an excellent education for our children. So we wish them well.
Both are examples of the government’s Free School initiative, which supports local parents, teachers and community groups in starting new schools in places were demand for school places exist.
Dan comments “As a founder of a nearby Free School, I know this initiative makes a real difference in areas where school demand is high, just like in Tooting. “Congratulations also to all of Wandsworth’s schools, which saw pupils outperform national results and increase pass rates for both GCSE’s and A-Levels. Top marks all round!”
